It was convenient, and the instructor was informative. If you want something very educational and easy to attend without having to go in person, I recommend it. I thought it was a good school, and I passed my exam the first time.

I really liked the online aspect of everything. If you're good at learning on your own, I'd recommend this option for you. One thing I think needs improvement is the entertainment to keep their users engaged. Another thing they can do is organize their study structure to make it easier to understand. I had a hard time going through it, and I think they should organize it more. I thought the program was effective and very affordable.

I liked that everything was online and that I was able to listen to the chapters in my free time. I thought the sample exam and all the materials provided for the exam were helpful. If you are interested in taking this online school, it might be boring in the beginning, but it will get more interesting later on. I thought this was great for a school, but I do think they should add more visual content to make it more entertaining. I think the students would enjoy that.

It was super effective, and I passed the exams on my first try. It gave me a really good idea of how the exams were going to look like and it was very well structured.

It was great! Everything was self-paced. I used this online program to get my license in two different states. It works perfectly and fits around anybody's schedule. It made me feel very prepared for the state exam, and the pricing was great. The only thing I'd recommend is for the online program to also focus on information that will be on the national exam too, I was quite lost, but thankfully I was able to pass both exams.

The information was very clear and easy to understand. I liked that everything was online and I was able to go at my own pace. My favorite part about it was that there was an audio option I could use instead of having to read every single word like other online programs. If you are the type of person who needs classroom interaction, I don't recommend this is for you. If you can focus and study on your own, I say go for it. It was priced lower than competitors, it has audio, and it is very effective.

I really liked I was able to do it at my own pace. The only issue I had was that the program did not prepare me well for the state exam, I'd suggest purchasing a different test prep course for the state exam. If you don't like to work at your own pace and listen to audio, you will not enjoy the course, and I wouldn't recommend it.

It was very inexpensive, and I loved that I was able to go at my own pace. If you are self-disciplined, it's a good choice. I was a bit concerned about how inexpensive this program was, but I really did end up enjoying it and found it helpful to get my license. I did enjoy that I was able to listen to audio instead of being bored reading text all day.

I mainly needed something quick and online, so this was the way to go. I'd suggest to do it because the curriculum is great, there's a quiz after each section, and there are highlighted words to help you know what to study. It very inexpensive and great quality.

Real Estate U was much cheaper than the other schools I looked at, which was important to me. Their review materials helped me prepare well before each quiz. It was pretty easy to follow along.

Real Estate U

I looked up a bunch of different schools before making my choice. The other schools were too expensive for me and this was the only one I could afford. I do the audio lessons and do the little quizzes after the lessons. It’s better to do it this way because there is a lot to read. I do print out the material and read it. Sometimes I do the quizzes 2-3 times to make sure I’ve learned it all correctly. I notice they only communicate with me through email (I didn't see a phone number or anything). But that hasn’t been a problem so far. This was the first course I’ve enrolled in online (because of my work schedule). I'd rather take it in class but I don’t have time because I'm always working. Doing it online has let me set my own pace. When I finish, I still have to do the fingerprinting and then the exam.

It was good…a little bit boring, but all classes are. I found it interesting because it's the line of work I want to be in. It can feel boring if you don't like the material. I didn’t ever need to contact support, but I liked that they are there if I needed them.

Got the job done

Pretty boring, but isn't all school? 100% audio, except for the workbook. The workbook really just tells you which subjects are talked about at which points. There are timers to prevent you from just rushing through it.

I haven't completed it yet. It's nothing difficult or anything, it's just a long process - it's over 180 hours and six sections. You can work at your own pace. I only completed one so I still have a lot to go. Obviously, you get what you pay for (this is a cheaper version than Champions). It has all the fundamentals, but not much more than that. It doesn't have much more applicable to the current real estate market right. so if you wanna learn more than the basics, that might be found in the classrooms. But for the fundamentals, it's solid.

Real Estate U is pretty simple. There are few little quizzes after your lessons which help you earn easier. I've been getting through it pretty quickly, and I am close to being done. My advice would be to make sure to take notes and to attempt all the mini quizzes provided to help you better understand the material.

There was a good combination of videos to watch, along with reading sections. I liked that they changed it up. They let you retake the practice tests so don't worry about getting it all perfect. The only downside is that I sometimes felt like I sometimes spent more time reading than the course actually counted towards my hours.

Good value

This was the cheapest program I could find. Alot of other people complain that there are no videos or images, but they clearly must not have even read what they were buying. The course is kind of dry but it is better than just reading a text book.

please fix the audio

I like Real Estate U online because it is convenient for me and it allows me to work and attend school at the same time. The website audio is very low and sometimes difficult to understand, and they need to fix the problem to be able to comprehend better. The online school is convenient and affordable and for me, it allows me to be at home taking care of children and household and run errands and get back online at anytime I have a few spare minutes. It would be nice if they added graphics as well video and pictures, but most of all they need to fix the audio. It is very difficult to hear at times and sometimes you don't understand what they said.

Old School

The format is really old school. It's just a person reading and the material is redundant. I got this on Groupon, so at least I didn't have to pay very much.

Only take the course if you are good at self pacing and have the discipline to make yourself work on the course materials. If you do, the self-paced, online aspect of the program is great. If you don’t, you might want to consider a different career path.

complete at your own pace

This online school provides all the necessary information you need to pass the course and the exam. I'm a mother of three, and I love the fact that I can work at my own pace and take care of my kids at the same time. The price is affordable because of the different payment options. Be sure to set yourself a goal and get through it. In reality, it is all up to you how bad you want this new opportunity. I'll be finishing school in about six weeks.

I was able to take the course at my own speed, with whatever I happened to have nearby (on my phone, laptop, etc.). I am only giving it 4 stars because I felt like I had to learn more than was on the test.

It met the state's requirements for hours of study and it was affordable, which was nice. When I had questions, I was always able to get in contact with an instructor online.

About

About RealEstateU

RealEstateU bills itself as a quick, easy, and affordable place to obtain your license. But price alone is not a solid reason to select this provider – especially when your education is at stake.

RealEstateU’s main strength is in its affordability. Many students have positively reviewed the school online. You’ll especially enjoy the video courses if you’re  based in New York. With their pre-license programs, you can fulfill the education requirements to sit & pass state exams. Salespersons & brokers can also enroll in continuing education classes.

Quick Facts

  • RealEstateU has two founders, Andrew Anic and Ciprian Morariu. They founded the school in Jan 2013. At the time, Andrew was studying for a Real Estate Master’s Degree in Finance & Investment at New York University. Ciprian was an entrepreneur and now serves as the school’s Managing Director.
  • Initially, Ciprian actually wanted to get started in the real estate industry. But he couldn’t find a clear blueprint despite undertaking several courses, attending boot camps, and spending lots of money.   The first courses the team produced were focused on real estate investing.
  • The school’s first pre-licensing course was a package for NewYork, launched on September 6, 2014. It had 75 hours of video content taught by 21 local real estate professionals.
  • To date, over 40,000 students have taken their programs.

Courses Offered:

  1. Pre-license education: RealEstateU allows students to take their real estate license training online. They can learn from any location, provided they have an internet connection. States served include New York, California, Texas, Virginia, Georgia, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. Each state has different class hour requirements.
  2. RealEstateU Exam Prep: State exams are not always a walk in the park. Not all students pass on their first try. Even on the second attempt, some students still fail. The exam prep is meant to prepare you adequately. RealEstateU focuses on the topics that are most likely to feature in the exams. You get up to 16 practice quizzes and sit for a mock exam with time limits, just like the state version.
  3. Continuing Education: The school has not ventured into CE programs in depth, as they currently offer CE education in New York only. In New York, you can get a 22.5-hour renewal course, and earn credit hours that will be required to renew your license. The CE course includes both audio and video formats and is taught by 6 instructors.
  4. Investing Courses: The school has up to 7 real estate investment programs. You can apply for  the “How to Buy Your First Multi-Family Project” program. It shows you the exact procedure of finding and closing the first deal. Another noteworthy course is “Deal or No Deal.” It gives a blueprint for identifying good deals and bad ones.

What is RealEstateU like?

The learning Experience differs from state-to-state. In New York, students learn by watching the 75-hour video course. But if you like a bit of text as well, the school also provides a 200-page PDF ebook available. In other states, teaching is primarily through audio courses. You get a transcript for each lesson, as well as infographics & diagrams. Following each chapter is a quiz that tests how much you have retained. RealEstateU also gives students a downloadable PDF of glossary terms.

After completing your real estate pre-licensing course, you’ll have to sit for the school’s exams. In some states, you don’t need proctoring. Upon attaining a passing score on the school test, you proceed to the state exams.

What do students like about Real Estate U?

Highly affordable: The school heavily discounts its courses. For instance, you might find yourself paying $99 for a $249 course.

Freedom & Flexibility: It’s the main advantage of online courses. You don’t have to attend scheduled classes in-person.

Audio format: RealEstateU lets learners experience different learning formats. And the audio format is particularly advantageous. You can complete audio lessons while performing tasks that don’t require lots of concentration.  For instance, as you commute to work.

Good refund policy: With some schools, once you buy their online courses your money is as good as gone. RealEstateU gives customers a 30-day money -back guarantee. Provided you have not completed more than 50% of the course, you qualify for a refund.

Up to 12-months: You get up to 12 months to complete your online pre-licensing course. CE courses must be completed in 6 months.

Knowledgeable instructors: In reviews, many students have sighted that they found the instructors knowledgeable.

Don’t let the low prices fool you into thinking this company isn’t legitimate.  The company has been providing real estate education for over 5 years to date.  That said, because they’re the lowest cost offering in many states, they don’t offer all of the same bells and whistles that other real estate schools can offer.
