I enjoyed the videos, they were really helpful. After taking the CE shop that only had a couple of videos that were not long at all.

The videos we slightly too long for the actual information. But I assume that’s one way to ensure you reach the 75 hours

If you want to become an agent do it. I took the final exam 5 times before passing 4 times with CE Shop and 2 times with Real Estate U. NEVER GIVE UP.

It was good. The videos made it very easy; the website was easy to access, and receiving certifications is also easy. The only suggestion I have to benefit the users is for them to provide a visual representation of an instructor giving the lessons. My advice is if you are going to be a new agent this is probably not the program to go with; I say it's for more for experienced agents looking to get licensed in a new state.

I did the whole thing at my own pace and that I didn't have any technical issues throughout the whole class. I do think that they should create an app. That way it's easier to access instead of having to get on the web on my phone. It was a good course, so make sure you pay attention to the material because it was very similar to the actual exams themselves.

It was great. I used the test prep as well as books to prepare myself for the exam. With both, I felt entirely confident about my exams and passed my first time around. Highly recommend this test prep as well as purchasing a book.

This is a New York STATE course for a New York STATE exam. For whatever ODD reason, the random law (I wouldn't say "professionals") figures lecturing the course use New York CITY each...and every...time as a reference point for every poorly explained example of real life situations regarding these banal terms in pseudo law jargon such as "bundle of sticks"? and "fee simple"? and "estoppel"? and making simple things confusing by using "broker" and "agent" interchangeably and giving no example of when the different TYPES of agents would come into play. Which is very important.

For some reason RealEstateU thinks it's responsible and that it's ok to use the city in teaching material for a state and neglect to mention state matters and slobber and ramble through important definitions and texts despite people paying for this and having to pass an exam in this and trying to make a career in this. This is absolutely unacceptable. Sure YOU might be a real estate lawyer for 30 years or a successful agent for 10 years or you were born into the industry and didn't learn real estate academically but through experience instead (and it shows people), but it's clear that you're either out of touch and unfit to be an instructor, and/or you are used to using unintelligent babble and layman's vocabulary in your everyday business being a city slicker, and clearly while teaching an expensive course too. It's frightening that I'm only on chapter 3 and already I can see problems; the fact that these people dared to teach a course for a STATE BUT ONLY DISCUSS NYC is indications of nothing good. I'm from NYC but I'm upstate now and considering that the NYS real estate license is reciprocal and able to be transferred to different STATES, I would like/need information that's also transferable! I wrote down each and every lecturer's name in the video so far and if I have to I will cuss them out PERSONALLY.

The only reason I give two stars instead of one is because firstly, it's a 75 hour course, unnecessarily so, and that's not the instructor's faults. There is NO NEED for it to be THIS long. That's a whole lot of blank space to fill and where it IS the instructors faults is that they fill the space by rambling about crap regarding NYC but fail to use that time to narrate or demonstrate scenarios. I'm not saying film a sketch here. But a mere explanation of when someone would be the principal, the seller, the seller's agent, and the customer, and an example of when there's trust violations and bad practices occurring such as price fixing or market allocation WOULD BE NICE. I know what these things ARE BY DEFINITION but I have not a shining CLUE of how to recognize them for real, yet, but we've breezed right through these terms?! I'm not finished with the course yet, but it's starting to p___ me off!! Not to mention the DAUNTING task it seems to be to schedule the state exam. I'm like 10 hours in or something and I can't get this time back. Another reason for the extra star is because the course layout and website so far are just fine if only encased in the videos were tolerable people.

There's been 4 instructors so far and only 1 hasn't ticked me off, and he was the first one, an empty promise of a good thing. The 2nd instructor was boring himself lol and while he gave many examples, he gave weird ones like haunted houses. Was that supposed to wake me up!?? Because all it did was give me trouble sleeping, thanks a lot butt hole. And the third instructor for chapter 2 was RACING THROUGH everything so much so that he was stuttering back to what he was saying. NONE OF IT made sense?! I literally muted him and was bored to almost literal tears, I was actually BANGING MY HEAD ON MY TABLE listening to him!!!!! I couldn't WAIT for the chapter quiz. And now I'm on the 4th chapter and this woman is a NIGHTMARE! She's saying things that DO NOT match the notes in the same slide nor the study terms under the video!!! It's like she just didn't feel like explaining it! Is she high? Clearly these people are volunteering their time and don't really care? Or they're getting paid and don't really care. If it doesn't get better, please expect to not hear the end of my mouth!! I will go to each of these people's social medias and leave very nice messages for each of them for wasting my time and money and career ambitions.

It was all very convenient completing it whenever I needed to. I had the course for two years, and I liked that I could pay so that it wouldn't expire. I did find it challenging to complete with the fact that it was all audio. It felt a lot longer than it really was. I think including text content would make it easier to follow along, and more interaction would be beneficial than just having a monologue. Just stay diligent and study throughout the whole process. The quiz question will also be a big help for study purposes, so be sure to keep them handy.

It was an easy set up to use, and I was able to do work on it at my own time. I would suggest working on it early in the morning for a couple of hours before you start your day that way, you get as much as you can complete. From personal experience, I am more of a visual learner and would've liked visual presentations like videos, animation, and pictures. I thought it was an awesome way of getting my license and at a great price.

It was all convenient, and I was able to get licensed twice as fast if I were to go to an in-person school. As having a career in the education industry, I think that the program was well put together, and having it available online was just genius. I have recommended this school and will continue to do so.

The price was good… but, it’s obvious “you get what you pay for” cause this was horrible. Not good

Please start over with the instruction the facilitators are Horrible with a capital H
The instructors will put you to sleep except for one. The monotone voices and repeated swallowing is so distracting, you can tell they just sent an email and either forced these people to do this or that’s all they had available. Aweful

Reevaluate this course, it could be good but, there should be better graphic displays and Lord get rid of those BORING instructors

I enjoyed its flexibility, being able to do it online, and completing the classwork at my own leisure. I really like the classes, they were good, and the real-life examples they would provide helped out a lot. It was easy to follow, easy to work on my own time, fast to complete, and super cheap. Be sure to stay focus and finish it quickly. Put all your effort, and do not procrastinate. I thought the whole course was good, yet I do wish they provided more materials rather than everything being online. I believe that a physical book would be super helpful and simple to follow along with.

I thought it was inexpensive, the set up for proctors were painless, and their testing was very effective. If you do decide to do online, I'd highly suggest you make sure you have a good computer and also a camera for the proctoring. In my opinion, a lot of people think that if they pay more for a real estate school, that'll be more effective but that's not the case. I spent little with this course and got top quality information.

I liked the fact that it was self-paced and that I was able to do it on my own time. Make sure you are self-motivated for online classes because you will need to be to complete it on your own. The only thing I would say they could improve is their lectures. I thought they were a bit monotonous because it was a plain green screen of a chalkboard, and it was only audio. We just had to listen to the lecture, so it was a bit boring, not being able to see the instructor. I thought it was a good class and they really tried to provide all the information they could.

I liked it. It was very user friendly, and customer service was extraordinary. Every time I reached out, they would respond so quickly and fix any issues with no problem at all. Just be sure to take notes and listen to the recordings. All the curriculum tests were easy, but the final exams are a bit challenging, so make sure you absorb all the information. One thing that would make it easier is if the recordings would provide a timestamp, that way if we needed to refer back to them, we could. I thought it was a great program.

What do you like about RealEstateU?
Realestateu was very user friendly. The course set up was great. The videos were easy to watch. Everything they went over was on the NY real estate test.

What are some things to improve upon?
Some of the answers on the tests were different from what was taught. A couple of the videos were monotone and hard to sit through.

Anything else you'd like to share with other agents?
This is a completely legitimate course. I was skeptical because of the price but I completed the whole thing and am now a licenced real estate agent.

Affordable, easy to use, and certainly at your own pace. You have an entire year to complete. I'm taking the courses for Texas (there are six total). I find I can do a course once per week and pass each final with ease.

I don't find any improvements that need to be made, I have enjoyed these courses.

Highly recommend this school for those that are looking to go at their own pace. Lots of great information and I have to say, the Texas instructor is phenomenal.

RealEstateU's program is horrible the monotone teaching the confusion webpage setup plus is zero interaction on the course. this is by far the worst online experience

They can improve on everything. Its time to pull the plug and rebuild it from the ground up. they need to redo all the materials

RealEstateU is very rude and needs to rethink their position in the education world

RealEstateU has good customer service.

However, they could improve on the fact that there was no study guide for the chapter exam is discouraging then if you don’t pass you have to pay again to take the whole chapter again it’s discouraging they need to update the videos and I force study guides cause some folks are visual learners in need to be in a classroom setting my opinion enforce study guides and better videos !!!!!!

If you are a visual learner I recommend you go to a class setting they have no study guides to help you prepare for chapter exams

What do you like about RealEstateU?
The price-point and audio features fit will with my learning style. I know there are some easier options, but you can't beat the price and ease of use.

What are some things to improve upon?
Better study guide tools would be helpful. I found myself struggling to go back through the course and find answers to questions.

You can get through it fairly fast!

I will give this course 3 stars...the Instructor for the state of Texas is not very clear through out the lectures, its hard at times, to understand his "twang", and, more often than not, his voice fades....be prepared to buy multiple notebooks and pens because there is ALOT of material that you will NEED to know, if you don't want to take the test multiple times. I feel that this course in particular, will not prepare me well enough for the exam.....

I chose Real Estate U mainly because of the price and the fact that it was all online. It was easy to use, and I thought the interface was really good. I thought the material was very detailed, but I did notice they left out a lot of points that were on the test. If they could somehow improve that connection, I think it would be 100% perfect.
One issue that needs to be resolved was making sure that the instructors were there to teach the material and not give their personal opinions on unrelated subjects. I had an instructor that would make me feel negative when he would demonize people who flipped homes or give out his political opinion. For the most part, I thought it was really effective and worth every penny.

It was convenient while going to school and working a real estate side job. With the schedule I had, I could not go to an in-person class with working and going to college. You do need to pay attention to the state material because the state portion seems to be a lot harder than the national exam. It was a great class, and I would recommend to people who have a busy schedule as I did.

I loved the instructors. They were both knowledgeable in the real estate industry and never made it boring. The first piece of advice I'd give is to purchase a book because it will make it a lot easier to follow and enable you to read the material in detail. One thing that should be implemented, in my opinion, is more visuals and graphics rather than having it all audio.

Being able to do it remotely from home was awesome. I would suggest redoing the quizzes before taking the actual exam. Real Estate U had really good test prep. It was beneficial with the national exam, and it really helped me prepare because the questions were very similar to it. As far as the state exam, I didn't think it provided much information as I needed. I hope that they will improve the state portion more in the future because I definitely needed more help there. I loved the accessibility it gave. I was actually working then, so it was really accessible over my phone, and the audio was great to listen to while driving. I would suggest to schedule out your day to work on the courses every day and print out all the documents they provide at the very beginning. I think the only thing they need to improve is to provide a test prep in the initial package, rather than have their students have to seek outside options to study for their exams. They would make a lot more money and also it would make it a lot easier for their students.

Real Estate U was much cheaper than the other schools I looked at, which was important to me. Their review materials helped me prepare well before each quiz. It was pretty easy to follow along.

I looked up a bunch of different schools before making my choice. The other schools were too expensive for me and this was the only one I could afford.
I do the audio lessons and do the little quizzes after the lessons. It’s better to do it this way because there is a lot to read. I do print out the material and read it. Sometimes I do the quizzes 2-3 times to make sure I’ve learned it all correctly.
I notice they only communicate with me through email (I didn't see a phone number or anything). But that hasn’t been a problem so far.
This was the first course I’ve enrolled in online (because of my work schedule). I'd rather take it in class but I don’t have time because I'm always working. Doing it online has let me set my own pace. When I finish, I still have to do the fingerprinting and then the exam.

It was good…a little bit boring, but all classes are. I found it interesting because it's the line of work I want to be in. It can feel boring if you don't like the material. I didn’t ever need to contact support, but I liked that they are there if I needed them.

I was able to take the course at my own speed, with whatever I happened to have nearby (on my phone, laptop, etc.). I am only giving it 4 stars because I felt like I had to learn more than was on the test.

It met the state's requirements for hours of study and it was affordable, which was nice. When I had questions, I was always able to get in contact with an instructor online.

I haven't completed it yet. It's nothing difficult or anything, it's just a long process - it's over 180 hours and six sections. You can work at your own pace. I only completed one so I still have a lot to go. Obviously, you get what you pay for (this is a cheaper version than Champions). It has all the fundamentals, but not much more than that. It doesn't have much more applicable to the current real estate market right. so if you wanna learn more than the basics, that might be found in the classrooms. But for the fundamentals, it's solid.

About RealEstateU

RealEstateU is a quick, easy, and affordable place to obtain your license. But price alone is not a solid reason to select this provider – especially when your education is at stake.

RealEstateU’s main strength is in its affordability. Many students have positively reviewed the school online. You’ll especially enjoy the video courses if you’re based in New York. With their pre-license programs, you can fulfill the education requirements to sit & pass state exams. Salespersons & brokers can also enroll in continuing education classes.

RealEstateU allows students to take their real estate license training online. They can learn from any location, provided they have an internet connection. States served include New York, California, Texas, Virginia, Georgia, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. Each state has different class hour requirements.

RealEstateU Exam Prep

State exams are not always a walk in the park. Not all students pass on their first try. Even on the second attempt, some students still fail. The exam prep is meant to prepare you adequately. RealEstateU focuses on the topics that are most likely to feature in the exams. You get up to 16 practice quizzes and sit for a mock exam with time limits, just like the state version.

Continuing Education

The school has not ventured into CE programs in-depth, as they currently offer CE education in New York only. In New York, you can get a 22.5-hour renewal course, and earn credit hours that will be required to renew your license. The CE course includes both audio and video formats and is taught by 6 instructors.

Investing Courses

The school has up to 7 real estate investment programs. You can apply for the “How to Buy Your First Multi-Family Project” program. It shows you the exact procedure of finding and closing the first deal. Another noteworthy course is “Deal or No Deal.” It gives a blueprint for identifying good deals and bad ones.

RealEstateU Glossary

What is RealEstateU like?

statue-of-liberty-267948_1920The learning Experience differs from state-to-state. In New York, students learn by watching the 75-hour video course. But if you like a bit of text as well, the school also provides a 200-page PDF ebook available. In other states, teaching is primarily through audio courses. You get a transcript for each lesson, as well as infographics & diagrams. Following each chapter is a quiz that tests how much you have retained. RealEstateU also gives students a downloadable PDF of glossary terms.

After completing your real estate pre-licensing course, you’ll have to sit for the school’s exams. In some states, you don’t need proctoring. Upon attaining a passing score on the school test, you proceed to the state exams.

Freedom & Flexibility:

It’s the main advantage of online courses. You don’t have to attend scheduled classes in-person.

Audio format:

RealEstateU lets learners experience different learning formats. And the audio format is particularly advantageous. You can complete audio lessons while performing tasks that don’t require lots of concentration.  For instance, as you commute to work.

You get up to 12 months to complete your online pre-licensing course. CE courses must be completed in 6 months.

Knowledgeable instructors:

What are the drawbacks about Real Estate U?

The complaint we hear most often is a similar one we hear about most real estate schools – RealEstateU teaches you enough to pass the state test, but not about the ins and outs of many of the things you need to be a successful real estate agent, such as a great real estate lead generation website, the best real estate lead generation companies, or the best real estate CRMs.

The course will teach you about real estate laws and regulations in your state, but not about how to create a real estate social media strategy, or the real estate flyer templates that are must successful. Most notably, it doesn’t cover the best real estate software as you’re starting out, how to bring in buyer leads, or how to find the right real estate CRM (even if you’re looking for a free CRM tool). If you’re looking for more advanced topics like real estate adsbuilding your own real estate lead generation website, which real estate marketing tools you’ll need, or even just real estate marketing ideas in general, you will need to complete those studies on your own.
