What did I evaluate?

I looked at the 5 most important factors for each course, including course value, ease of use, unique features, student satisfaction, and pass rates.
I also took into account thousands of online reviews from other agents who have attended the courses. Each course is different, so I’ve included video walkthroughs so you can really understand what you’re getting. My video reviews include my opinions too (I promise, they’re short and sweet).
How’d I do it? I “secret-shopped” each and every course. I got access to the courses, I contacted their support team as if I were an active student, and I took a look at the content. These Tennessee real estate schools may appear to be really similar when you’re first taking a look, but trust me – as probably the ONLY person who has actually evaluated all these Tennessee courses – they are very, very different!
A bit about Pass Rates:
You’ll see me refer to Pass Rates in my article – these are estimated using a variety of sources – pass rates directly from the providers, estimations from other states where providers operate in multiple states, and user-reported qualitative information.
School | Estimated Pass Rate |
---|---|
AceableAgent | |
The CE Shop | |
RealEstateU | |
Colibri Real Estate |
Alright, let’s get to it…After spending hundreds of hours evaluating each course and taking into account all these factors, I have narrowed down the list to the 5 best online real estate schools in Tennessee. Here they are!
Best Online Real Estate School in Tennessee: AceableAgent

When it comes to real estate courses in Tennessee, my personal favorite is Aceable’s course. If you’re seeking a course that avoids tedious content, this is the one for you. Aceable stands out with its remarkably high pass rates on the real estate exam, giving you the best chance of successfully clearing the test.
In terms of pricing, Aceable falls within the mid-range. While it may not be the cheapest option available, its exceptional quality and impressive pass rates make it the top choice for best overall real estate school in Tennessee. Additionally, there is a sale going on right now,, which adds to its appeal.
Unlike some other courses, even the most affordable package from Aceable provides comprehensive coverage and fulfills your requirements. However, I do recommend considering their “Deluxe” package, as it offers a heightened level of preparedness, instilling confidence as you approach the exam.
Convenience: 4.7 out 5. I was thoroughly impressed with the engaging nature of Aceable’s real estate course. The incorporation of multimedia elements such as videos, interactive games, infographics, and knowledge checks made the entire 90-hour experience captivating. This approach effectively broke the monotony of traditional reading and significantly enhanced the absorption of the material. In comparison to other top Tennessee schools like The CE Shop or RealEstateU, Aceable unquestionably stands out as the clear winner, surpassing them by a wide margin. Additionally, the availability of a mobile app proved to be a game-changer. Being able to study on-the-go not only increased convenience but also greatly improved my overall time management and efficiency.
Pass Rate: 5 out 5. Aceable has a 91% pass rate amongst Tennessee students, which is pretty incredible. That is about 39% higher than other Tennessee real estate school providers. In the last two years they’ve helped more than 5,429 students pass their real estate exam. This is one of the most important metrics to look at – you want to pick a school that gives you a good chance of passing.
Course Duration: 4.5 out of 5. The Tennessee real estate course is a substantial commitment, requiring 90 hours to complete. Understandably, many students are interested in knowing about extension options in case they require additional time or become busy. In this regard, Aceable stands out as a more generous option compared to schools like The CE Shop or Colibri Real Estate. Unlike other courses that typically expire after 12 months, Aceable’s Tennessee course does not have an expiration date. This means that students won’t have to worry about paying for access extensions. With Aceable, you have the freedom to take as long as you need to finish your Tennessee course, which is a significant advantage. While most students typically complete the course within 5-6 weeks, the flexibility to work at your own pace is a major benefit provided by Aceable.
Support:4.8 out of 5. Aceable’s customer support team is exceptional and truly stands out. They were consistently prompt in their responses and provided valuable assistance whenever I had a question or required help. The availability of chat support is a noteworthy feature, as it allows for quicker resolutions to minor inquiries without the need to wait on the phone. It’s also worth mentioning that the entire support team is based in the US, ensuring effective communication without any language barriers.
However, one aspect to consider is that their technical support team is not as active or responsive during weekend hours. If you plan to dedicate your Saturdays or Sundays to completing coursework, this may be a factor to keep in mind. Despite this, I was generally impressed with the knowledge and speed demonstrated by Aceable’s customer support, contributing to a positive overall experience.
Refund Policy: 4.7 out of 5. Although I personally did not require a refund, it is a common question that many people ask about, so I will provide a review on this topic. Aceable offers a generous 30-day refund policy, provided that you have not yet completed the course. This aligns with industry standards, and similar offerings can be found with schools like The CE Shop and RealEstateU.
However, Aceable goes the extra mile with their Ace or “Don’t Pay” Guarantee. This guarantee provides peace of mind, as it ensures that if you complete the course but do not pass the exam, you will not have to pay for the course again. In contrast, other providers may charge an additional fee, often exceeding $49, for this feature. This added benefit from Aceable further enhances the value and reassurance provided to students.
Overall Value & Recommended Package: Overall, I highly recommend Aceable’s Tennessee pre-licensing course. For new affiliate brokers, I’d suggest taking a look at the Deluxe package. The extra perks like the 75 videos & audio lessons and PrepAgent Deluxe Exam Prep make it a good value. You don’t want to have the take the Tennessee real estate exam twice, so you might as well go in with the best option in the market to really prepare you, if your budget allows it.
- Entertaining course material
- Incredible pass rates - this is important!
- Mobile app built for studying on the go
- You may have to pay to extend course access
- Some bugs on mobile app
- Customer support not open on weekends
Easiest Online Real Estate School: The CE Shop

The CE Shop’s course in Tennessee stands out as one of the most accessible and straightforward options available. If you’re uncertain about which course to select, this is the ideal choice for you. With their five-day free trial and return policy, it also provides the greatest opportunity to receive a refund if you opt not to complete the course.
In terms of pricing, The CE Shop falls within a reasonable range, neither being the most affordable nor the most expensive. However, thanks to its student engagement features and user-friendly mobile app, it certainly ranks among the easiest online courses offered in Tennessee.
Plus, this is one of the courses available for our Tuition Reimbursement program, which is a big help. All you have to do is attend at least 1 interview with one of our recruiters after passing the state exam & before joining another brokerage, and we’ll reimburse you for the entire cost of The CE Shop course that you purchase from us.
Similar to Aceable, even the cheapest package from The CE Shop can fulfill your requirements. However, I would suggest considering their “Value” or “Premium” package due to the added advantages of the Pass Guarantee and post-licensing access. Although these packages involve a slightly higher upfront cost, they provide the assurance that you can receive a refund if you don’t pass the course, granting you peace of mind.
Convenience: 4.5 out 5. What impressed me the most about The CE Shop was its exceptional user interface. They have developed a custom-designed online learning platform that is conveniently accessible on tablets and phones. This enabled me to access the course material on the go, significantly improving my time management and efficiency.
The dashboard provided a valuable overview of my progress within the course, and I found it helpful to revisit previous sections as a refresher when studying. While the course included videos and numerous quizzes, I must admit that I didn’t always enjoy the heavy reliance on text-based content.
Certain sections, which involved extensive traditional reading, were more challenging to absorb and seemed to drag on. In such cases, a more interactive format like Aceable might have been more engaging and able to sustain my interest throughout the entire 90-hour duration.
Pass Rate: 5 out 5. The CE Shop has a 64% pass rate amongst Tennessee students, which is significantly higher than the average rate. Many other schools are in the ~52% range. That means you have a 12% higher chance of passing the affiliate broker’s exam on your first try, which is one of the most important metrics to look at, and you’ll thank yourself later as you get ready to take the test.
Course Duration: 4.7 out of 5. When considering the Tennessee real estate course, it’s important to be aware of its substantial duration of 90 hours. This knowledge is particularly valuable for individuals who prefer having the flexibility to extend their study period when faced with a busy schedule. It should be noted that The CE Shop enforces a course expiration policy of 6 months in Tennessee.
Compared to other schools like RealEstateU or Colibri Real Estate, The CE Shop offers a more lenient policy. They provide a one-month extension free of charge, which can be utilized immediately after the initial six-month term. However, if additional time is required beyond that, there is an associated cost. Nevertheless, it is worth mentioning that most students manage to complete the course within 5-6 weeks, and with dedicated effort, it can even be finished as quickly as 5 weeks. Thus, while it’s a consideration, excessive concern about the timeline may not be necessary.
Support: 4.5 out of 5. The customer support provided by The CE Shop has its advantages and drawbacks. When I had inquiries or encountered technical issues, I found that there were multiple channels available to reach out to a real person. Their customer support team is accessible seven days a week and was prompt in responding via phone, email, or live chat.
Utilizing the live chat feature, the technical team was able to quickly and at no cost fulfill my request for an extension within minutes. However, it’s important to note that direct access to an instructor is not available. If any problems arise with the course material, the support team assures a response within two days. Waiting for two days can feel lengthy, especially if you are stuck in the middle of a lesson and require immediate assistance.
Refund Policy: 4.7 out of 5. Although I personally didn’t require a refund, I understand that many students are curious about this aspect. The CE Shop provides a generous 30-day refund policy, as long as you haven’t completed more than 50% of the course. This aligns with industry standards, and similar offerings can be found with schools like Aceable and RealEstateU.
On top of that, The CE Shop goes the extra mile by introducing a new 5-day free trial offer. This allows individuals to sign up, explore the course, and cancel without any penalty if they decide it’s not suitable for them. This trial period provides peace of mind, as it allows a few days to assess the course format and make an informed decision before fully committing.
Overall Value & Recommended Package: Overall, I highly recommend The CE Shop’s Tennessee pre-licensing course. For new affiliate brokers, I’d suggest taking a look at the Premium package. The extra perks like the Exam Prep Edge and the included 16-hour required CE course make it a good value. You don’t want to have to worry about signing up and paying for more online courses after passing the real estate exam, and it makes it easier to just use the same account for everything. For me, I find it easier to pay for both upfront so it’s a stress-free process throughout.
- Practice tests are unlimited
- Easy Tennessee real estate course
- Great interface
- Broad exam prep questions
- Text-heavy content at times
Most Affordable Real Estate School (The CE Shop): Tuition Reimubursement

We’ve built the most affordable way for you to get your Real Estate License. All you have to do is attend at least 1 interview with one of our recruiters (+ provide feedback) after passing the state exam, and we’ll reimburse you for the entire cost of The CE Shop course that you purchase from us.
That’s right – we’ll reimburse you whether you choose to join our team or not (but we hope you do!). About 50% of our tuition reimbursement graduates choose to work for our team after interviewing with us. The other 50% of our tuition reimbursement students that choose to join another brokerage still get their course costs fully reimbursed.
Why are we the only real estate company that reimburses your course costs even if you don’t join our brokerage? There are a few key reasons that we’ve decided to set our program this way:
- Our 50% join rate is way higher than the industry average for recruiting, and we really want agents to be excited when they join us, which only works if they love what we have to offer. Most brokerages only want experienced agents, but we specialize in helping new agents build their real estate careers from the ground up. We have hundreds of agent training courses that range from helping you build out your social media presence to learning the ins and outs of commercial real estate; we have mentors dedicated to new agents to help them through their first sales; we even have a dedicated coach to help with mindset and motivation; and more. So we don’t need to force new agents to join our team to save a few bucks.
- If you choose to join another team, we also hope you change your mind someday and come back to join us. Many agents reach out to us months or years after trying another brokerage first, and this gives us a chance to keep the door open for the 50% of new agents who don’t join us immediately. If we can’t be the right brokerage for you right now, then we still hope to be the right brokerage for you some day in the future.
- Too many real estate organizations fail to live up to their promises. We’re not perfect, but we really try to follow-through on every promise we make, including our tuition reimbursement promise.
At the end of the day, we’re betting on you becoming a great agent, and if we can make obtaining your real estate license more affordable, then hopefully you’ll return the favor and join us after graduation or come back to us any time you’re ready for a new brokerage. It’s that simple, and we’re happy to invest in you.
How does the reimbursement work?
Email us (support@agentadvice.com) once you receive confirmation from the state that you’ve passed the state exam, and one of our recruiters will reach out to you to get to know you and share any and every thing you’ll want to know to decide if our brokerage is the right fit for you.
We’ll schedule the interview at a time that works for you. All you have to do is attend the interview and provide a little feedback to our support team, and our support team will reimburse your credit card for the amount that you’ve paid us within 2 business days. All in, it’s about an hour commitment between the interview and feedback. No other strings attached.
Tip: If you’ve already started a different course at your own expense, or prefer to pick your own school at your own expense, we’d still love to interview you. Just reach back out when you’re licensed, and we can connect you with our hiring team, however, we’re unable to reimburse your course costs at this time unless you purchase the course directly from us.
AgentAdvice.com is not the provider of any courses, and all state certifications, ongoing support questions, etc. will be provided by and fulfilled directly through the school.
Think you have what it takes to be a successful real estate agent?
“When I interview people who have just passed their real estate course, I’m looking for agents that meet a couple of characteristics. If you have these characteristics, it will determine who is successful and who is not in real estate.
It’s not an easy industry. If it was easy, we’d all be rich. First, I’m looking for agents that have a vision for what they want to be, people who want more than what they have. Now, I’m not talking about money, motivated people necessarily. If money motivates you that’s fine, but in most cases, money’s not the motivator.
I am looking for agents that are in touch with their motivations to grow. Is it having a house for your family? Is it providing an education for your children? Is it providing security for your future retirement? It doesn’t matter, I’m looking for agents that have a vision, and are passionate about taking care of present and future concerns, whatever they are. So that’s number one: ambition.
Number two is looking for people that have a little bit of courage. This business requires courage. In my experience, having now been in conversations with well over a thousand agents over the last 18 months, and recruited more than a hundred, there’s one characteristic successful agents have. They don’t shrink from a challenge. They don’t, they still take action even if they don’t know all of the answers to all of the questions. They know that if they get faced with a question that they don’t really answer to, they know they can find the answer.
I’m looking for people that are ambitious, are courageous, and then finally are ready to grow. I want to help give people the opportunity to be the best version of themselves.
Usually, it’s not easy, and many times there are tears, and sweat, and frustration involved, but you go through that because you are so ambitious and in love with the future you’re trying to create. That passion for your future, it gives you courage to press through the hard times. So if you’re ambitious, courageous, and you’re ready to grow, and you think being in a conversation with a guy like me might be helpful to your future then let’s get you the tuition reimbursement you deserve!”

Agent Advice Success Stories:

Terrica C.
New Keller Williams Agent & Tuition Reimbursement Recipient
“I always wanted to become a real estate agent, and finally decided to take the next step. Getting started with my course was easy. Agent Advice just sent me a link, and I did the whole thing online. I finished the class, now I just need to get scheduled for the state test. I would definitely recommend Agent Advice to anyone looking to get their license, especially if they’re wanting to do it for free.”
Rachel K.
New Real Estate Agent & Tuition Reimbursement Recipient
“I was moving from Tennessee to Florida, so I was considering a career change. I always thought real estate might be something I’d be good at, so I connected with someone at Agent Advice and decided to take the course. It was easy to follow and understand, and the course I chose kept me interested. It didn’t take long for me to finish the class and I passed my state exam on the first try! I then reached out again to Agent Advice and set up an interview with a tuition reimbursement sponsor, and got my money back that same day. All in all, it was really simple and easy.”
Marcus W.
New Real Estate Agent & Tuition Reimbursement Recipient
“The entire process was seamless, and the communication from the very beginning was great. When I first came across Agent Advice I had lots of questions, but I was able to get in touch with someone right away who helped explain the process from start to finish. Once I completed the course and set up an interview with a brokerage, they stopped the payments immediately. I also enjoyed the subscription payment option that Agent Advice has. It gave me the flexibility and motivated me to finish the course quickly. I’m still deciding on which brokerage is the right fit for me, but I enjoyed getting to interview with someone so that I could ask questions about what the day-to-day would look like at that company.”
Quickest Online Real Estate School: RealEstateU

RealEstateU is the most expensive option on our list of Tennessee courses, and it really has nothing to show for it. It’s way overpriced in my option, and you also won’t get a very interactive learning experience.
In other words…you get what you pay for. That being said, you can fly through the course as quickly as you want to. There are no time limits or restrictions on each lesson, which is why it made my list as the quickest real estate school in Tennessee. RealEstateU makes it really easy to study at your own pace, and you’ll be able to access the course on the go.
Unlike other courses, there is only one package available. It’s also important to note that the price does not include a text book. I found myself trying to look up certain lessons that would then refer me to a certain page of the textbook that wasn’t included. If you want to purchase a book it’s an additional $25.
With that said, this is one of the courses available for our Tuition Reimbursement program, which is a big help. All you have to do is attend at least 1 interview scheduled by an AgentAdvice recruiter after passing the state exam & before joining another brokerage, and we’ll reimburse you for the entire cost of the course that you purchase from us.
Convenience: 4.3 out 5. The real estate courses offered are entirely online and accessible from a computer, smartphone, or tablet, providing great convenience. I personally found this feature advantageous as it allowed me to log in and work on the course even while on the go. While RealEstateU does offer a multimedia learning experience in certain states, I noticed that the Tennessee course leaned more towards being reading-intensive. It consisted primarily of large sections of text, occasionally supplemented with videos and infographics, followed by a real estate glossary. After completing the course, I was able to take the practice test, which I successfully passed on my first attempt.
One of the standout aspects of RealEstateU is their step-by-step checklist on how to obtain a real estate license. This checklist serves as a guide throughout the course, helping to track progress and maintain motivation. It includes a progress bar that visually indicates where one stands in the licensing process. Overall, these features contribute to the overall learning experience provided by RealEstateU.
Pass Rate: 4.2 out 5. RealEstateU has a lower pass rate than the other schools on this list amongst Tennessee students. While REU’s 61% pass rate is lower than Aceable’s or The CE Shop’s, it’s still higher than many other online real estate schools. More than 12 other school providers show less than a 50% pass rate. That’s why many students opt to buy test prep for an additional cost before taking the exam. It’s well worth it if it gives you the confidence you need to pass the test on your first try.
Course Duration: 4.1 out of 5. The extension policy is indeed a common concern for students who may require additional time to complete the course due to busy schedules. RealEstateU has a relatively strict policy in this regard. If you fail to finish the course within 12 months, you are required to repurchase the course in its entirety. While this may initially seem strict, it’s important to consider that RealEstateU offers their courses at a lower starting price compared to other providers. The downside of this policy, however, is that you would lose your progress and have to start over from the beginning. Therefore, it’s essential to be mindful of the time constraints and plan accordingly to avoid potential setbacks.
Support: 3.9 out of 5. RealEstateU’s customer support team indeed has limitations compared to other providers. They do not offer phone support or a live chat option, which can be a disadvantage when immediate assistance is needed. Instead, users are required to fill out a contact form on their website to report any issues or seek help. However, the response time for such inquiries may vary, as you mentioned experiencing a delay in receiving a response.
In situations where you encountered a glitch in the system, the lack of immediate support options may have caused inconvenience. In such cases, it may have been necessary to log out and access the course at a later time when the issue was resolved. It is important to consider this aspect when evaluating RealEstateU’s customer support capabilities and to be prepared for potential delays in obtaining assistance.
Refund Policy: 4.6 out of 5. While I personally did not require a refund, it is a topic that many individuals are curious about. RealEstateU’s refund policy does not include free trials or money-back guarantees. However, they do provide a 30-day refund option for classes that have been completed less than 50%. It is important to note that a deduction of $20 may be applied to the refund, depending on the specific class you are enrolled in. This policy aligns with industry standards, and similar refund options can be found with schools like The CE Shop and Colibri Real Estate. This is pretty standard, and other schools like The CE Shop and Colibri Real Estate offer similar.
Overall Value: Overall, I wouldn’t say that RealEstateU’s Tennessee pre-licensing course is the best out there, but it does get the job done if you’re looking for a quick option. For new affiliate brokers, I’d suggest taking a look at Aceable’s exam prep option to pair with your REU course. This combo will allow you to fly through the lessons with RealEstateU, but also give you some practice exams so that you feel confident walking into the test.
Best Refund Policy: Colibri Real Estate

Colibri Real Estate’s course stands out with its exceptional refund policy in Tennessee. They offer a comprehensive Pass or Don’t Pay Guarantee, allowing students to request a refund if they do not pass their real estate exam. Additionally, Colibri Real Estate provides a course swap option, enabling students to switch to a different course if they find their current one unsuitable.
Plus, prospective students have the opportunity to demo the student dashboard before making a payment, giving them a better understanding of what to expect from the course. This flexible refund policy makes Colibri Real Estate an excellent choice for students who are uncertain about pursuing a career in real estate, as it provides a greater chance of getting a refund if they decide to change their mind.
In terms of pricing, Colibri Real Estate’s courses are positioned on the higher end of the spectrum. However, they offer four package options, ranging in price from $244 to $450, allowing students to choose the package that best suits their needs and budget. Additionally, Colibri Real Estate frequently offers discounts and sales, providing students with valuable cost-saving opportunities.
Convenience: 4.6 out 5. Each package includes study guides and coaching videos sourced from Buffini & Company. These videos provide valuable real-world examples that prepare students for industry-related situations and questions. The inclusion of these videos, which are valued at $150, enhances the overall course material.
For students seeking additional test prep resources, access to live Q&A sessions, or simulated exams, upgrading to one of the premium packages is recommended. However, it’s worth noting that even the cheapest course option is sufficient to meet the course requirements. The decision to upgrade depends on individual learning preferences and needs.
One standout feature of Colibri is the “readiness assessment.” This assessment evaluates a student’s preparedness for the real estate exam. It provides a score ranging from 1 to 10, allowing students to determine if they should continue studying or if they are ready to proceed with exam registration. This readiness assessment feature can greatly assist students in making informed decisions about their exam readiness.
Pass Rate: 4.2 out 5. Colibri’s pass rate amongst Tennessee students is just slightly above the state average. About 57% of Colibri students go on to pass the state exam, and they’ve helped more than 520,000 aspiring agents get their real estate license in Tennessee. That being said, it’s not the highest pass rate on our list of schools, so you can certainly find a school (for a cheaper price) that will prepare you for the test in a more interactive way.
Course Duration: 4.5 out of 5. Although the Tennessee pre-licensing course only takes 90 hours to complete, some people like more time in case they get busy. You can pay to extend your course access by selecting a 7, 30, or 60-day option (prices go up the longer you want to extend). You can also choose the “retake” option which will give you a $25 discount to start the course over. Colibri’s policy is fairly generous compared to other schools, although you do only have the initial access for 6 months before you’ll have to look into extending your course.
Support: 4.6 out of 5. Colibri has established itself as a reliable and trustworthy provider of online real estate education, and their customer support reflects this reputation. They offer multiple options for reaching out to their support team, ensuring that students can easily connect with a real person for assistance. This includes an enrollment phone line and a dedicated support line, allowing students to choose the most appropriate channel for their needs. On top of that, Colibri provides a “live education specialist” accessible through live chat, ensuring quick and responsive support. Their prompt response within seconds and the provision of a comprehensive list of resources demonstrate their commitment to assisting students.
In addition to their direct support channels, Colibri Real Estate maintains an active presence on social media platforms. They regularly update their social media channels to inform students about any scheduled maintenance or updates.
Refund Policy: 4.6 out of 5. Colibri Real Estate stands out as an excellent choice for those who prioritize a generous refund policy. They have implemented safeguards to ensure that students do not risk losing their entire investment. Specifically, for self-paced online courses, which are highly popular, Colibri offers a 100% refund if students are dissatisfied with the course within the first week of enrollment. Furthermore, if students have not yet started the course, they can request a full refund within a month of purchase.
For students who opt for the livestream package, Colibri provides a 24-hour window during which they can change their mind and either request a refund or switch to an online-only format. This flexibility allows students to make an informed decision without the fear of being locked into a course that may not meet their needs.
Overall Value & Recommended Package: I would recommend Colibri’s Tennessee pre-licensing course. For aspiring affiliate brokers, I’d suggest taking a look at the Ultimate Learning package. The extra perks like the career success tools, the coaching videos, and the CompuCram Exam Prep make it a great value that will help you find success long after you finish your real estate course.
- Live Q&A chat available
- Can pick and choose features
- Very flexible scheduling
- Study resources cost extra
- Checkout process is confusing
