  • Livestream vs. Online: The self-paced course is best for students that are self-motivated. If you don’t feel you have the push you need to complete the course, you can opt for the livestream option but then you will be required to follow a specific schedule.
  • Not Good on All Devices: There are glitches in the online format that will be more apparent on certain devices. It is especially difficult to access on mobile devices.
  • Text Based: Those who take the course will need to do a lot of reading so it’s not the best option if you are more of a visual person.

Cancellation Return Policy

Real Estate Express will provide a full refund for online classes to students that cancel within a week. If they have not started the course, they will have one month from the purchase day to submit a request.

Livestream students may receive a 100% refund if they cancel after the first day. They will get a 75% refund if they cancel within the first week. They can also request to transfer to an online course within the first week for a $50 fee.

The school provides pass guarantees to students who take the Exam Prep Master Program only. Students who do not pass after completing the program are eligible for a full refund.

The CE Shop will provide refunds to students who cancel within 30 days of purchase as long as the course is no more than 50% completed. Those that purchase the Exam Prep Edge will get a refund if they cancel within 30 days of purchase and the initial assessment has not been completed.

The school offers a pass guarantee and will offer students who took the Exam Prep Edge a refund if they did not pass the exam. However, in order to be eligible, students must have gotten a score of at least 80% on all the topics in the course.

Tennessee Real Estate Education Systems (TREES) advertises itself as Tennessee’s oldest and largest school for real estate, appraisals and home inspection. The school launched in 1975 as a real estate principles class before pre-licensing education for realtors was even a requirement. Once the requirement was put in place, they updated to provide the services realtors need to become licensed.

In the 40 plus years since its inception, TREES has expanded to offer on-site classes in Chattanooga, Knoxville, Murfreesboro, Nashville and Sevierville. It provides home study and online options. It offers classes for real estate brokers, affiliate brokers, appraisers, home inspectors and auctioneers.

Study Courses

TREES provides a variety of study courses including the following:

  • Pre-license Affiliate Broker: This 60-hour course for the licensing exam is approved by the TN Real Estate Commission. You can take the class online, on site or in a home study format.
  • Course New Affiliate: This 30-hour course for real estate license issuance is approved by the TN Real Estate Commission. It is available in online, on site and home study formats.
  • Crash License Prep: This course offers preparation for the PSI exams for affiliate brokers and brokers. It is available on site and online.

TREES had a pass rate of 48.43% for onsite students and 53.63% for online students. Although this seems low, it is relatively high in comparison to other Tennessee real estate schools.

TREES has gotten positive reviews online, but there are some students who have had their doubts.

Students that were happy with the program said they liked the teachers. They said the curriculum was good and the instructors reviewed the materials to make sure all the students understood it before moving on. They also found the study courses to be helpful.

Those who had anything negative to say mentioned that the online experience wasn’t as comprehensive as the in-person experience. Cancellation/Refund Policy

Students that request a refund before the first day of class will get their money back less a $25 processing fee. It the student attends the class and wants a refund, they will only get half their money back less the $25 processing fee.

If they wish to transfer to another class or another platform, they will be granted credit (less the $25 processing fee) to do so but the credit must be claimed within 6 months. This policy applies to both online and on-site classes.

Students taking the home study course will need to request a refund before receiving their course materials to get a refund minus the $25 processing fee. If they cancel after the materials are delivered, they will get half their money back less the processing fee. Students may also transfer to another platform.
