Al B.

The professor and material was actually good. It was a very basic and simple reading format. The course is mostly vocabulary with definitions and then quizzes throughout the reading, that you must pass in order to proceed to the next chapter.

Customer service is terrible. The website looks nice at first glance, but once you sign up and actually start using the website it is not well organized and difficult to navigate. Once you try and get a hold of someone for help, this is where the real problems begin. The management staff is unorganized and have poor customer service. They are not a local company and go home for the day prior to 3:00pm. There is a night/after hours operator that is unable to assist with anything other than apologize for the management staff leaving early everyday.

You may get lucky and not have to deal with the employees of this company or specifically the supervisors and management. As a 20+ year real estate agent, I would highly encourage you to avoid this school and go with a local real estate school. A local real estate school will have more knowledge and content more specific for your area. They will work the same hours you do. They will also have better customer service and trust me you will be happier. Shop Local!!!

Awful experience. Supervisors are rude and reps below them lie to you and you find yourself in the end owing money to the state for not being told the correct information from mckissock. Would not recommend plenty of other great schools in nj to use for licensing and continuing education

The supervisors are rude. People below them have no clue what their talking about. Go elsewhere and don’t trust the supervisors if you speak with any.

I have a horrible experience with this company and after searching the internet I found many other people who had the same experience. They need to learn how to do what is right for the customer. I absolutely DO NOT recommend using McKissock. I'm quite sure anyone else is a better choice.

Go somewhere else for learning

Lindsey Haas

I signed up for the appraisal school in Jan 2020. I was starting to do the school but then COVID hit and I went from working to being a teacher and a stay at home working mom. Times have been tough. Then the market went crazy and homes sales went through the roof. So, we grabbed on to coat tails not sure where things would be in the coming months or year and tried to close all that we could over the summer to bank what we could. In the meantime the school had to go on the back burner. Now we are having to possibly school our kids again and so I called to ask for an extension. They want to charge me $50 for a 30 day extension. I had asked for 6 more months to complete this. Why on earth could they not allow me more time considering all that has changed in our worlds. I asked for some grace and they denied me. So, I had them cancel the entire program and I will not be going back here for anything in the future. You only have 10 days to get a refund and you have 6 months to complete it so BUYER BEWARE if you are a working mom and things in your world get turned upside down they will not work with you.

McKissock Learning Customer

The staff was extraordinary, and they always went the extra mile for their users. I thought the program was good, but it was a little dry. I think they should add videos to make it more interesting because reading throughout the curriculum was the worst. They also need to try to shorten the length of the information because there is way too much content, and users forget it by the end of reading everything.

Rhonda Karageorge

McKissock makes taking online real estate courses an easy process. Their staff is always friendly and helpful in assisting me with classes to take, particularly because I am licensed in 3 states. The content of the classes is relevant to business practices and information is timely. They also offer commercial classes for those of us in commercial real estate.
I have used them for years and am very happy.

Wow - just had to write this review because I really like McKissock. Have taken many CE classes and have learned a lot. Have had few issues with the programs and they are my go to for continuing ed for appraising. Would definitely give them a try. Have done other courses that were not as good so I don't know what the other reviewers were expecting.

stockvault-online-education-online-degree258750Continuing Education

Before renewing your license once every two years, you will need continuing education credits. And the only way to earn them is by completing approved CE courses.

McKissock Learning has one of the most comprehensive libraries of CE courses for agents. They seemingly cover all 50 states, including the District of Columbia.

Topics span a wide variety of subjects (depending on state).  A few examples are Agency Law, Fair Housing, Risk Management, and Energy Efficiency. Their elective courses are more varied. Some include how to work with investors, the day-to-day life of a buyer’s agent, elements of an eco-friendly home, etc.

CE PLUS Membership

While you can purchase the core packages (for about $100 to $200 in many of the states we reviewed), the school offers students a membership package. You receive unlimited access to the CE programs. Other benefits include access to the pro-series courses, service discounts, short how-to videos, and more.

    • How much does membership to the CE plus program cost?

It varies from state to state. But expect to part with about $100 to $170.The advantage is that on subsequent renewals, you won’t need to buy the packages separately.

Post Licensing

Some states require new licensees to obtain post-licensing education before their first license renewal. On subsequent renewals, agents only have to earn CE credits. The school avails post-licensing training in the following states: Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Utah, Vermont, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Oklahoma, North Dakota, and South Dakota. For instance: Are you a new licensee in Florida? You can take the 45-hour post-licensing program at about $99 (see website for current pricing).

Coaching and Training

Coaching is also available at McKissock. They have partnered with prominent real estate coaches like Sherri Johnson. As a top producing agent, she shares tips and her experience with new agents to get them on track to becoming top producers themselves.

There are more training modules for agents. You complete these courses to increase your skills & knowledge, for instance, “Strategies to Increase Sales and Income.”

Learning Experience at McKissock

The learning is entirely online, but they also offer other delivery modes such as correspondence/home study or webinar. You’ll find that they have a modern learning platform that works intuitively. When you log into your account, you’ll see all the courses you’re taking. There is a learning hub with more resources.

When launching any course, the platform will inform you if your device meets the requirements for learning. It ensures you don’t lose completed hours because of glitches. You’re also assigned an instructor. They provide an instructor bio, including if they are certified.

Most courses are text-based, so anticipate lots of reading. You can, of course, interact with instructors during scheduled webinars.
