Taking my real estate course with Michig...

Nicole Freed

Taking my real estate course with Michigan Institute was one of the best decisions I have made. I passed my exam the first time which I attribute to my Instructor, Tim Green, and the investment of the exam prep. Understand, while I consider myself an intelligent individual, and a good student, test taking is NOT my strong suit. Michigan Institute is number 1. This ranking is well deserved and earned with every class and every student. In a world of fake- my instructor was the real deal. I can't even say that about many of my college professors. Tim Green taught me what I needed to know to pass the exam the first time. He's passionate about the industry which makes him an effective instructor. Obviously I learned what I needed to pass the exam- but the rest of the instruction was invaluable and I'll utilize not only in this career but life.

Elizabeth Donnelly

Kevin was a wonderful instructor. He made the entire process feel less stressful. He was humorous and made sure if anyone had any questions he was available. I WOULD RECOMMEND anyone at any age to take their real estate class consisting of 40 hours with the Michigan Institute of Real Estate. Many locations to choose from. Additional programs available at a reasonable cost at the end of the class.

The CEO, Namir, has been credited by many former students as being one of the best instructors in the field. Working at the office - Office meeting with two coworkers

Salesperson real estate pre-licensing course

With this course, you’re effectively learning the skills that will allow you to navigate your real estate career that involves guiding buyers and sellers alike. The state requires candidates for the state exam to take a 40-hour pre-licensing course. It teaches you all the fundamentals, for instance, laws of agency, contracts, real estate math, finance laws, and more.

CE courses

With the CE courses, you can earn your credit hours that are required to renew your license. Usually, this is the 6 hour CE package. Two hours are dedicated to general education, while four hours are allocated for legal updates.

Exam Prep Tools

Real estate exams are notoriously tough. If you want success, you must adequately prepare. All real estate schools have some preparation packages in place. For the Michigan Institute of Real Estate, you get a number of tools from the school such as flashcards, real estate calculator, passing exams DVDs, and more.

Other courses

    • Mortgage license & continuing education:  You can get the certified course you require to become a licensed loan originator. The school also offers continuing education to mortgage appraisers as well.
    • Builders course: It’s targeted at persons that are engaged in the construction of residential or commercial structures. The course features 60 hours of approved topics.
    • Appraisal license: You will be required to complete 75 hours of appraisal pre-licensing education. It tends to be a popular option for real estate agents.
    • Home inspection: Students taking this course get to learn all they need to become professional home inspectors. They learn how to create inspection reports, examine for insect damage, check foundations, and more. It is an in-class only course.
    • Professional development courses: The school is currently offering a course on how to launch a real estate brokerage successfully.

Learning experience and mode of delivery

The school shines in the number of delivery modes they provide to their students. You can take the traditional classroom route if you value attending a real-life class and learning from an instructor. For students that can’t commute to their locations, they have two options. First, the home study course involves using both printed and prerecorded lessons. You receive the material through the mail and also mail it back.

For its online classes, the school has taken a more engaging approach. Some places have students complete lessons by reading text-based slides online. That tends to be “boring” for some, as it is no different from reading a textbook. Michigan Institute of Real Estate offers audio narrated slides instead, which are much more engaging.
