If you’re here, you likely already know that a robust Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform can be the difference between a thriving business and one that struggles to keep up.

We’ve reviewed several platforms, but we thought a side-by-side comparison might be more helpful as you collect your research for your next big decision.

Two highly competitive platforms, BoomTown and BoldTrail, have some similar benefits but a few differences to consider. While both are heavyweights in the CRM arena, this will help you determine which suits your business better.

Let’s compare these two platforms side-by-side, breaking down their features, pricing, pros and cons, and much more.

5 Key Takeaways

  • User-Friendly Interface: Both platforms are designed to be intuitive, but there are subtle differences that might sway your preference.
  • AI-Driven Features: BoldTrail leans heavily on AI. They offer advanced automation that can save you time and help you ensure no potential client slips through the cracks. Boomtown has AI features, but only in its top-tier package.
  • Customizable IDX Websites: Both offer this, but, in my opinion, BoomTown’s integration is slightly more polished and expansive.
  • Pricing Options: BoomTown is more transparent with its pricing, which I appreciate. It offers four different options for your budget. BoldTrail provides a more tailored approach, which you determine in a consultation depending on what you need.
  • All-In-One Solutions: Both platforms can simplify your workflow and help you stay organized, but the extent and execution vary slightly.

BoldTrail vs. BoomTown: Overview

BoldTrail-PrimaryLogo-FullColor-LayeredFrom what I can tell, BoldTrail is quickly gaining traction, my guess, because of its cutting-edge AI-driven features and customizable IDX websites. It’s built as a one-stop shop to streamline your daily tasks and efficiently get through your busy days as a real estate agent, allowing you to focus on what you do best—closing deals.

BoomTownBoomTown, on the other hand, is a veteran in the real estate CRM world. It’s known for its comprehensive features that cater to agents, brokers, and teams of all sizes. BoomTown focuses on providing end-to-end solutions, from lead generation to client retention. They offer AI-driven tools to help with efficiency, but only in the higher-ranked package.

User Interface: Simplicity vs. Intuition

When deciding which platform to use for your business, I always start with the user interface. It’s important to me that they incorporate the tools I need quickly enough and with customer support should any glitches arise, especially as you’re learning how to use it the most effectively.

BoldTrail offers a more simple aesthetic that’s a touch easier to navigate. The layout is clean, so it’s easy to find what you’re looking for, even if you’re not particularly tech-savvy. The learning curve will likely be minimal, plus the platform feels modern and fresh.

BoomTown, however, you might find a touch more challenging to navigate, but that shouldn’t be a deal breaker. You can tell it’s been around longer from how it’s laid out, which may be better for you.

Plus, the dashboard is customizable, which allows you to prioritize the features you use most. So, while this one may take a bit longer to get the hang of, once you do, it’s incredibly powerful, and agents typically love it.

AI-Driven Features

laptop-5673901_1280AI is no longer a luxury—it’s a necessity if you want to keep up in this competitive market. Everything from ad generation to automated lead nurturing and more can be helpful for client conversion. And I think this is where BoldTrail shines.

First, BoldTrail offers AI-driven automated lead nurturing in all of its packages. This means that once a lead enters your system, the AI takes over, sending personalized emails and messages and even predicting when a lead might be ready to make a move.

If you’re busy juggling multiple clients and deals simultaneously, this will free you up to focus on closing but do not sacrifice the time you need to build your client pipeline.

BoomTown also offers automation, but it’s not as advanced as BoldTrail’s AI and is only offered in their top package.

BoomTown’s focus is more on data collection and analysis, giving you the insights you need to make informed decisions and streamline your communication work process. However, without advanced AI, the execution of follow-up for leads is largely in your hands.

Customizable IDX Websites: Often Your First Impression

Your website is more than likely going to be the first interaction potential clients have with you and will aid in their decision to work with you. It has to convey your brand in a relatable way that helps build trust and establish your expertise, so it needs to be better than good—it needs to be great!

BoldTrail allows you to create fully customizable IDX websites that are not only visually appealing but also functional, helping you capture leads and attract more business. These websites automatically update with the latest MLS listings, enabling you to stay up to date with little effort and give your clients the most up-to-date information.

BoomTown also offers customizable IDX websites with a bit more established professional polish. The integration with MLS is seamless, and the design options are extensive, which bolsters your individuality as a real estate agent. So, you get to create a website that looks great, is on brand, and performs well in terms of SEO and user experience.

Product Pricing: Breaking Down the Costs

Both offer comparable packages but have different lists of what each includes. Let’s take a closer look at what each platform offers in terms of pricing.BoomTown screenshot

“BoomTown offers four main packages:

  1. BoomTown Launch: A lead management system for growth-oriented agents or smaller teams. It’s everything an agent would need to build the foundational systems into a business.
  2. BoomTown Core: The next step for growth with up to 5 users, customizable drip campaigns, bulk emailing and texting capabilities, and other tools real estate agents need to increase their reach, build a prosperous pipeline for a growing team, and create more business opportunities.
  3. It allows agents to get 10+ users on the system to keep the team connected, productive, and accountable.
  4. Advance: A package with enterprise-level features like networking sites, multi-MLS support, and comprehensive reporting. With this system, agents and brokers can manage multiple teams (or offices) under one unified front and deliver a unified brand experience.”

3 Biggest Pros for Each Platform

Boldtrail screengrab 2BoldTrail:

  • User-Friendly Interface: This is a big one for me, as discussed earlier. Being an agent can be stressful, so having a simple design gives this a big thumbs up from me.
  • AI-Driven Automation: Familiarizing yourself with this technology is now a must, and the fact that they offer it on all levels is a bonus.
  • Customizable Websites: A recognizable brand helps create familiarity, which ultimately builds trust. Having the ability to customize your website is crucial.

BoomTown:

  • BoomTown screenshoot 2All-In-One Solution: Everything you need in one platform, from lead gen to client retention, will help you stay organized. This is a pro for me because keeping track of too many platforms can increase stress, which no one needs any more of in their lives.
  • Proven Track Record: There’s a reason they’re a top contender and have been for a while! When you have a well-established platform with a solid reputation in the industry tells you they’re doing something right.
  • Excellent Support: 24/7 customer support provides relief should any glitches occur or if you need to learn how to use the platform more effectively.

3 Biggest Cons for Each Platform

BoldTrail:

  • Learning Curve: Some advanced AI features and automations may require some time getting set up, but it should prove profitable and worth the time it takes to get familiar with it.
  • Cost: Customizing your package offers flexibility, but it could be pricey for a solo agent just getting started.
  • Limited Integrations: As of now, I don’t believe they integrate with as many platforms as Boom-Town, but you may not need as many when using this platform.

BoomTown:

  • Steep Pricing: The pricing isn’t prohibitive, but it could be a challenge for smaller teams, especially if you want to use all of the features they offer.
  • Complexity: The vast number of features can be overwhelming at first.
  • Lack of AI Features: Automation isn’t as advanced as BoldTrail’s.

I prefer BoomTown for a CRM. Their platform is intuitive and streamlined, allowing me to effectively capture and convert leads.

BoomTown integrates with my existing tools, like my website and social media accounts. This automation helps turn online interactions into in-person meetings without requiring extensive follow-up on my end. The built-in drip campaigns do much of the lead nurturing for me.

While BoldTrail is affordable, I found their system clunky and time-consuming to learn. It took extra work to get the same results I achieve quickly with BoomTown. For agents who want to boost lead conversion and revenue, BoomTown’s customization and automation make a big difference.

The user-friendly interface and experience with BoomTown have been game-changers for my business. Their platform handles much of the tedious back-end work, freeing me up to focus on building relationships with clients.

Years in the industry: 15

As the director at Eden Emerald Mortgages with over 15 years in the industry, I have had the opportunity to use both BoomTown and BoldTrail CRM systems.

Between the two, I find BoomTown to be superior due to its robust lead management and automated marketing features. BoomTown offers comprehensive tools for tracking leads, nurturing them through automated workflows, and analyzing performance, which has significantly enhanced my client engagement and conversion rates. While BoldTrail is also a solid CRM, its interface and feature set are not as advanced or integrated as BoomTown’s, particularly for large-scale operations. For agents who prioritize advanced analytics and seamless integration with other tools, BoomTown stands out as the more effective choice.

My name is Keith Sant, I’m the Founder & CEO of Kind House Buyers, based in Tacoma, WA. As a real estate professional, land developer, home design enthusiast, and investment advisor, my mission is to assist clients in finding, building, purchasing, and achieving their dream homes and financial freedom.

I highly recommend BoldTrail. As a real estate agent, time is of the essence and having a system that is easy to navigate and understand is crucial. BoldTrail’s layout and features make it ideal for busy agents like myself. I have tried both BoomTown and BoldTrail and while they both have their strengths, I found that BoldTrail’s integration with other tools such as email marketing and lead generation made it stand out. Additionally, the customer support team at BoldTrail is exceptional – always available to help troubleshoot any issues or answer questions. I believe BoldTrail offers a comprehensive CRM solution for real estate professionals looking to streamline their processes and boost their productivity.

Due to BoomTown’s established reputation and rich feature set, it is an excellent option for larger teams or those requiring detailed data analysis and lead management abilities. Its professional polish and strong support can be invaluable for scaling a business.

BoldTrail, however, is unique if you are looking for an AI-driven CRM with a user-friendly interface and customizable IDX websites. Automation and intuitive design allow it to automate tasks effectively, making it an excellent choice for agents who value modern technology.

Both platforms provide strong solutions, but your choice should depend on whether you need extensive data tools and support or innovative AI features and simplicity.

As the owner of a real estate company, where there are many part-time agents and always new members pouring in, BoldTrail functions the best thanks to its BackOffice feature. From agent retention and management to performance analysis and recruiting, I can do it all from any device. Moreover, the user interface serves as a self-training interface – meaning our team doesn’t need hours for newbie onboarding like other CRMs. Apart from employee management, BackOffice made accounting easier for the whole company. The finance team and agents can track their commissions while every transaction gets recorded in real-time – eliminating any chance of human error.

So, Which Platform is Right for You?

Choosing between BoldTrail and BoomTown ultimately comes down to your specific needs and preferences, and I hope this analysis of the two helped you decide what features may be more useful for you.

If you’re looking for a platform that’s easy to use, offers advanced AI features, and allows for a highly customizable online presence, BoldTrail might be the better choice.

However, if you want a well-established platform with a comprehensive feature set and excellent support, BoomTown could be the way to go.

In the end, both platforms offer powerful tools that can help you grow your real estate business. To determine the best choice for you I suggest your next steps be: evaluate your needs, try out the demos, and choose the one that feels right for you.
