Pierce County AM

I just finished with my Rockwell course. I took a self-paced online course that had timed quizzes and chapter tests throughout the coursework. . The online course came with three textbooks and included in the package deal I purchased three sets of practice exams each having three sections of exams for a total of nine final exams to practice with. It is a course that will let you keep taking the quizzes, tests, and exams until you pass. I studied very diligently for 45 days for 4-7 hours a day. When I went to take the WA state test I was able to successfully pass the exam the first try. I was in many Facebook study groups such as prepagent. So many of these people purchase prepagant as an extra study enhancer. Well, I can tell you I didn't feel I needed it because Rockwell's material was so relevant to the exam questions. Rockwell's website wasn't very flashy or fancy, but I didn't care I was there for the knowledge and information. Keep your head down and run hard.

Cesar Castaneda

The online courses would not let me purchase an extension through the website, which forces students to rely on office hours for an extension. This resulted in me finding out my course would expire but I when I found out this information the office was closed, thus I lost all my progress and the money I put in.

David Glidden

Would not do the online course again, or recommend to anyone else.

Robot voices reading to me are THE WORST!!! PLEASE get rid of all automated voice speaking in the entire curriculum, they serve no purpose and just make it harder to digest as well as stay committed. Every time I hear it I debate quitting and finding somewhere else. I end up skipping them half the time which isn't good for learning. If I don't skip them, I have to replay them a couple times which is even worse.

I left a shorter review previously, but after some more time I really needed to communicate to anyone considering to go elsewhere, literally anywhere. This is torture getting this done.

Format is incredibly outdated. This could be done so much better, and for the money I paid I expected that it would have been.

The Rockwell Institute format is complet...

Gary Gruzd

The Rockwell Institute format is completely dysfunctional and outdated. I see other study methods with videos of live instructions and Rockwell is just page after page of reading material with generic pictures and occasional animated figures which you also have to read what they are saying and never sure when they complete.

It is not conducive to learning at all. I can read all information in a textbook instead of reading it on a computer screen. There is no explanation of what has to be learnt just "textbook" words. I am HATING it and regret ever signing up with this company.

If I had not spend hundred of dollars with this course I would have left it at the beginning. What could be a fun learning environment is pure torture! What should take a few minutes to complete is taking me hours. Highly suggest you get a trial before signing up so you can see for yourself.

Billie Brown

I took the online course to get my Real Estate Brokerage licensed and was so pleased. The online class allowed me to learn at my own speed and review things I didn't understand, in more detail. I signed up, studied and took the State Exam, becoming a Real Estate Broker in less than 3 weeks. Thank you!!

About Rockwell Institute

The Rockwell Institute is a real estate school based in the State of Washington. They aim to offer the best real estate training. The school’s mission is ensuring its students pass the real estate exam on their first try. And based on prior exam pass rate data from Washington, Rockwell maintains a high pass rate for the state and national portions of the exam.

Quick Facts About Rockwell Institute

  • Founded in 1974 by David L.Rockwell, the school has grown in popularity, becoming one of the largest real estate schools in the Pacific Northwest.
  • They have since trained more than 150,000 students.
  • Rockwell has been operating for more than 45 years.
  • The school’s headquarters are situated in Bellevue, Washington.
  • Some of Rockwell’s achievements throughout the years include publishing their famous real estate book from 1981. And with the onset of the internet age in 1994, they began work on their online real estate course.

Which Courses Does Rockwell School Provide?

Salesperson Pre-licensing

The school offers pre-licensing education in two states:

    • Washington: Students need to complete two programs: the 60-hour Fundamentals Course and the 30-hour Real Estate Practice course. For this training, Rockwell allows students to choose between two modes of delivery. They can attend classes in-person at school classroom locations or obtain their course online.
    • California:  If you’re looking for a pre-licensing course in California, you can choose the correspondence program at Rockwell School. The course covers topics such as Real Estate Principles, Real Estate Practice, and one approved elective. You don’t have to purchase the CRAM course separately. It’s included as an eBook.

Sold House Means Sale Of Real Estate

Broker Pre-licensing

Managing brokers require more training so they can upgrade their licenses. Many states require salespersons to have been active for 2 to 3 years before upgrading. Rockwell has broker pre-licensing courses in California and Washington. For instance, for the Washington managing broker license, students need 90 clock hours of education split into three courses. The topics include brokerage management, business management, and advanced real estate law.

For California broker pre-licensing, the number of courses you may need varies, so the school provides several packages, but not all include the Free Exam Cram.

Continuing Education

Typically, broker licenses expire within two years. In Washington, you may complete all your required CE courses at Rockwell. Since they are online, you can fit the courses around your busy schedule. The school’s CE courses come with features such as competitive pricing, reminders for renewals, and more.

If you’re renewing your real estate license for the first time after licensure, there will be separate education requirements. Rockwell School offers first-time renewal packages as well.

Learning Experience and Delivery Modes at Rockwell School

Students get to choose the delivery modes that work best with them. There are in-person classes that you attend during weekdays, evenings, or weekends. The online and correspondence programs are geared at students wanting to study at their own time and place. With the growing use of mobile devices, Rockwell states that students can also access the courses using their mobile phones or tablets.

Now each online course comes with a textbook. But instructor support is not lacking. Learners can still have questions answered by people who authored the program.

When Rockwell designed its online courses, there was an emphasis on making the content more exciting. Some schools just have online versions of real estate textbooks with endless pages of plain white text. So Rockwell decided to include several learning aids such as charts, graphs, photos, animations, and more.

There are also chapter quizzes that will test out your knowledge and enhance comprehension.

What don’t students like about Rockwell School

Several recent comments have pointed out that Rockwell has an outdated platform, particularly its user interface. The school’s courses also expire after the allotted course completion window, which means that the students have to purchase extensions. Some of the school’s instructors have also received mixed reviews.
