About Metro Brokers Academy
Metro Brokers Real Estate Academy is a broker-owned real estate school. They’ve helped many agents launch their careers by giving them access to cutting-edge tools, top-notch training, available classes, and broker support. The school’s modes of learning include online, in-person, or virtual live classes.
Background on Metro Brokers Academy
In 1979, John Hartampf launched the first Metro Brokers office with a few sales associates. In 2009, the independent brokerage joined the Better Homes and Garden Real Estate franchise to increase its brand recognition and competitiveness.
Since then, the brokerage has significantly expanded in the number of offices and agent count. They are the largest BHGRE franchise. The real estate academy fulfills the training needs of its agents & brokers, as well as catering to beginners.
If you’re looking for a top real estate school in Atlanta with in-person classes, Metro Brokers comes highly recommended even by former students. They also offer a real estate simulator, which is pretty unique.
Quick facts about Metro Brokers Academy
- The academy has up to seven Atlanta school locations.
- BHGRE LLC is not affiliated with the Metro Brokers Academy.
- Metro Brokers Real Estate partners with several vendors to provide online courses. They include Hondros Learning, The CE Shop, and OnCourse Learning.
- Some instructors work or have worked for the brokerage as brokers or agents.
Learning Experience at Metro Brokers Academy
The online courses tend to be text-based. Chapters are broken down into small bits, one-to-three paragraphs per page.
After covering the sections, you complete some short quizzes. Before obtaining your completion certificate from the school, you must sit & pass the final school exam. It needs to be proctored.
The school provides flexible in-class courses. You can complete the sales associate course in less than two weeks with the accelerated weekday program.
If you’re working from 5-9 and still fancy a real estate career, Metro Brokers Real Academy has you covered with their evenings only course. You can also enroll in the evenings & Saturday program.
Which courses does Metro Brokers Academy provide?
Pre-license Course
In Georgia, students must complete an approved 75-hour pre-licensing course. Metro Brokers Real Academy is among the approved state vendors. The school has multiple modes of learning, including virtual live classes (daytime, evening, or weekend), in-person, or an online self-paced course.
With the online pre-license course, the school gives you a choice of two vendors: Hondros Learning or The CE Shop.
Approved instructors teach in-person classes. There is a final school test, requiring a passing score of 72%.
Exam Prep Course
As you obtain your pre-licensing education, the school will recommend a trusted CRAM or Prep course. Currently, it is the online CompuCram program.
It’s a comprehensive test preparation toolkit with features such as simulated exams, flashcards, practice tests, fill-in-the-blank quizzes, and more.
For students attending the in-person classes, they can prepare for the exam with the in-class workshop.
Continuing Education
Metro Brokers Real Academy has one of the most extensive CE course collections. These courses help you meet the 36-hour license renewal requirement and also equip you with the knowledge to become a successful real estate agent.
Post-license course
In your first year of licensure as a real estate associate, you enroll in a post-license course. Failure to which, you can’t renew your license for the first time. The school’s 25-hour course delves deeper into advanced real estate topics such as settlement procedures, finance, etc.
Broker Courses
If you’re a real estate associate looking forward to becoming an employing broker someday, the only thing standing in your way is a solid pre-licensing education and the broker exam. The academy provides a 60-hour broker pre-licensing course and a 25-hour post-license course.
Metro Brokers Student Resources
The school shines in the quality of resources they give students. We particularly liked:
In-class exam workshop
The in-class workshop is offered free of charge to students who have enrolled in the school courses. The workshop preps you for the main exam. And right after the exam workshop is a bonus workshop that covers topics like sales techniques, social networking, etc.
Scholarships for veterans
The scholarship program is aimed at veterans hoping to get started in the real estate field. They provide a unique REP program with specific training.
$250 Scholarship
They have a scholarship opportunity for students. Find out the eligibility requirements by calling their support number.
Real estate simulator
Many schools don’t fully prepare you for the role of an agent, beyond passing the state real estate exam. Well, Metro Brokers Academy has a solution. It entails using a simulator, where students learn by interacting with virtual clients. That will give you the self-assurance to interact with clients from day one.

Metro Brokers Academy FAQs
The pre-license course goes for around $300 to $450 and includes book fees. With the scholarship, you may pay less. There are discounts at specific periods of the year.
Since the Georgia Real Estate Commission doesn’t publish school pass rates, it is difficult to ascertain the school’s results vs. other Georgia real estate schools.
It depends on the class schedule you select. It’s possible to complete the online course in as little as nine days if you’re learning for 9 hours a day. The online course expires after 180 days.
For the in-person classes, it may take you 2 to 7 weeks.

Took my class at the Paulding Campus. Ms. Mungin is THE BEST! Passed my class final first try and same with my state exam. Great experience!

I was treated with such disrespect when I called in for a simple question to be answered. The director was so non caring about how I was treated and refused to even listen to my concern
She totally disregarded how I felt and the foul treatment from her employee displayed. It is no wonder why they have a 3.5 star. Terrible place!
I would never recommend this place to anyone!

Because of Metro broker, my real estate career will be pushed back months.
Use extreme caution using metro brokers if it involves taking off time from your regular day job.
They canceled the class 2 DAYS before it started and said and that they are running a business and their classes weren't popular enough to be filled to start in Woodstock.
My largest issue with this, is that I dropped down to part time at my current job in order for them to accommodate my classes...I never expected them to cancel so short notice, if I had known their classes were not on track to be filled, I could have reversed my schedule change. There is no excuse for canceling a class two days before it started with 0 warning beforehand, after paying for it months in advance.
They tried to sign me up for another class MONTHS later with the same unexpected attendance, so basically they want me to wait months and MAYBE that class will have enough people to actually start.
HUGE waste of time and bigger inconvenience for me at work as it's too late to reschedule me the hours I gave up, resulting in lost income for no good reason.

Great pre-license course and teachers. Ennis Antoine was an amazing teacher, he has sooooo much knowledge and skill about the industry. I would recommend using them for the course and having Ennis as your instructor if possible. They also have great training courses after joining the company should you decide to come on board. HIGHLY RECOMMEND PROGRAMS!!!!
